Into The Greenwood…
With the days warming, celebrate the coming of Spring with an inspirational outdoor writing workshop at Cannock Chase Forest in Staffordshire.
This is all about getting into the heart of the woodland, testing both your physical and creative strengths. Writers will be drawing on some text, as well as landscape for inspiration, with readings of extracts by Thomas Hardy, Rudyard Kipling Alice Oswald and Ted Hughes.
All of our workshops encourage free creative expression, and most of the time is spent gathering raw material, discussion, and personal writing. After the walk, writers will have lunch at the Spring Slade Lodge, share notes, and start work on a creative piece. There will also be a chance to read/perform your work at the end of the workshop, although this isn’t compulsory.
This is a great chance to hone your creative responses, with professional guidance and support. Writers working at any level and in any genre are welcome to attend.
Meeting: 10.30am on Sunday March 24th (meeting point to be confirmed).
Cost: £14 (£12 concessions)
The workshop will be led by David Calcutt.
